Job Description:
The News and Tribune is searching for a Sports Reporter to bolster our already extensive sports coverage in Southern Indiana.
We report on 12 high schools, two colleges and a wide variety of youth sports.
And, with your help, we want to step up our game even more.
If hired, you will join our sports editor and several stringers in covering some of the most successful high school teams in the region as well as non-traditional sports such as hiking, fishing, racing and more.
If you have a flair for the written word and know your way around a digital camera, we'd love to speak with you.
Whether you like city life or a more rural setting, we've got it here.
And, we are in one of the fastest growing regions in the country.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications or related field preferred.
A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role required.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to think critically and communicate effectively under pressure while also maintaining a positive attitude.
Excellent writing skills required; photography skills a real plus.
Strong organization skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks are required.
