This position is in the Southern Indiana area for a manufacturer of veneer/plywood products.
This is a small office of 2-3 people.
Must have proven experience in scheduling outbound freight and Excel.
Accurately and cost effectively execute purchase orders based on material needs.
Accurately maintain system for quantity and expected arrival date of inbound materials Collaborate with production and freight procurement resources to ensure smooth flow of materials and products.
Schedule outbound freight based on information provided by our freight team.
Keep informed of market trends, changes in business practices, etc.
Ensure the company complies with its purchasing policies and procedures.
Produce purchasing performance reports on a weekly basis.
Develop and implement purchasing strategies to optimize costs and improve quality.
Manage supplier relationships and negotiate pricing to ensure the best value for the company.
Relentless identification of opportunities to reduce inventory levels.
Maintain standard cost structure in our system and make recommendations when standard cost adjustments are necessary.
Source materials (core, edge banding, veneer, packaging materials, etc.
) based on requests from our Sales and Production team.
