Summary:
Assists in keeping premises of commercial and institutional buildings in clean and orderly condition by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
Perform routine inspections of school buildings for cleanliness and overall performance throughout the schools district Work along side custodial staff with hands on training to ensure policies and procedures are understood Assist with administrative duties Works hands on with training staff on cleaning rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms and other work areas.
Works hands on with staff on cleaning rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
Lifting chairs and place them over tables (approx.
chair weight:
20-25 lbs.
) Moving chemicals (5 gal buckets -- approx.
weight 40
lbs.
) Moving tables (approx.
weight 40
lbs.
) Trains to operate different types of equipment (i.
e.
burnishers, scrubbers, pressure washer)
Qualifications:

Education/
Experience:
Prior experience in janitorial housekeeping preferred Language Ability:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Math Ability:
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
Computer Skills:
Basic computer skills desired but not required.
